Palm – Spring/Summer 2011/12

Well, as winter draws to a close, we eagerly look toward Spring & Summer 2011/12.

In store you will find aptly handpicked touches of trends, including neutrals and pastels evocative of nature and geometrical block colours in cobalt and tangerines.

Like all trends that span multiple seasons prints prove their staying power in updated silhouettes, and lace has evolved into a summer staple.

The energetic collision of menswear with womenswear continues to inspire.

Standout collections for me are Zambesi’s consistently first rate utilitarian/athletic mood softened just so by atypical blush hues and Karen Walker's density of print inspired by the 1970’s Northern England Dance Scene.

I’ve welcomed two new additions to Palm - NZ labels twentysevennames, who have mastered the art of femininity, minus the twee undertones, with a SS 11/12 collection inspired by Japanese Mori girls, and Sherie Muijs who encompasses the epitome of easy summer dress with well thought out colours, fabrics and construction.

It is easy to be optimistic throughout the last of the winter weather when there are so many new season garments to delight and excite!
