I LOVE PALM - 10 Year Anniversary Interviews

Interview #7 - Juliette Hogan

How long have you been stocked at PALM BOUTIQUE?
Since Summer 2010

Describe Juliette Hogan in 3 words
Contemporary, Minimal, Luxe

You have a strong following at PALM, why do you think your brand performs so well with us?
I design collections that can be built on from season to season - you know when you invest in a piece you’ll have that in your wardrobe from season’s to come.  All of my clothing is designed and produced in NZ as well and I think there is a conscious movement with customers to seek NZ made product.

What is your favourite new look for the coming season?
For SS16 I can’t wait to be wearing our Agatha wrap dress - it’s infinitely flattering.

What are you working on at the moment?
I am currently designing AW17 and we are working on a really exciting project launching in October this year.

Who will always be your icon?
I don’t have an icon as such, I find inspiration from my surroundings and the people I surround myself with.

What song are you playing on repeat at the moment?
We have just had a bespoke unit made to house my partners thousands of records that have been sitting in crates - so nothing is on repeat at the moment and we are spending time exploring his huge collection.

What are you coveting most right now?
I am lucky enough to be able to design things that I’m missing in my life.  But I’m really wishing for a little bit more sunshine.

What are your favourite fabrics?
I am completely in love with cashmere right now.  I have designed cashmere blankets that can be worn as a scarf, knee blanket or thrown over your bed.  I wear mine back with the matching cashmere sweater.

Have you been to Nelson before? If so what was your favourite part?
I haven't been for such a long time and am in desperate need of a visit. Hopefully I will get down there soon.

Who would attend your DREAM dinner party?
Patti Smith for her tales of the Chelsea Hotel, Andre Aggasi after reading his autobiography, Grace Coddington for her beautiful presence and Michelle Obama.

What is your guilty pleasure?
Oysters, Kapiti cheese and Amisfield Rose.
